The Whiteside County Farm Bureau Foundation awarding a one-time scholarship to a veterinary student attending any accredited veterinary school in the U.S. The value of this scholarship is $2,500.
This scholarship is made possible by the Long family of Sterling. Longtime Farm Bureau member, Leonard Long, passed away in April 2023. His family selected the Foundation as the recipient of memorial funds given on behalf of Leonard. The Long family operate a dairy farm north of Sterling. They are tremendous supporters of our work in education. We wish to thank Judy and her family for thinking of the Foundation in their time of loss. We honor Leonard by utilizing the memorial funds to support a student studying veterinary medicine. Medical care for food animals is vital and there is a critical need for veterinarians willing to include food animals in their practice.
