local healthcare scholarships

The Whiteside County Farm Bureau Foundation is providing up to $5,000 in scholarships to students enrolled in one of three healthcare programs offered by Sauk Valley Community College. 
​RURAL HEALTHCARE SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 29, 2026
The Whiteside County Farm Bureau Foundation (WCFBF) is offering scholarships to Sauk students enrolled in the Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Sonography programs. Our goal is to financially assist students in these programs in hope they stay and work in local healthcare.
Eligibility:
  • Students enrolled in the ADN, LPN or CNA programs at Sauk.
  • Students in the ADN Program will receive priority consideration.
  • Those with LPN or CNA certification with good GPA can receive priority over those who are new students in the LPN and CNA program.
  • Students enrolled in Sauk's Radiologic Technology and Sonography programs are eligible to apply.
Award:
  • A total of $5,000 will be awarded.
  • The minimum amount awarded will be $500.
Qualifying Expenses:
  • Tuition, books and fees.
  • If all of the above expenses are satisfied, the balance of the scholarship may be used for personal expenses such as child care or any unmet financial need as determined by the Free Application and Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All unused funds will be returned to the WCFBF.
Application Requirements:
  • Complete the WCFBF Local Healthcare Scholarship application.
  • Submit a one-page essay. Essay question included in the application.
  • Submit unofficial transcript to confirm GPA and declared major.
Student Responsibility:
  • Upon receipt of scholarship, a thank you letter/card to the Foundation must be received before distribution of scholarship award.
